

After this incident, Israel turned away from Edom. The Israelites then asked again if they could just pass through on foot, and Edom still refused, coming against them with a substantial army. This event is documented in Numbers 20: 18-21 Edom wouldn’t let the Israelites pass through and threatened them with a sword.

In the Bible, Jordan is rarely mentioned by name, but the Jordan River is the scene for several miracles. The biblical kingdoms of Edom, Moab, and Gilead were all located in Jordan, as well as the city of Petra. Jordan also played a big part in biblical history. According to the Britannica Encyclopedia, Jordan is an Arab country located in southwest Asia and bears the remnants of many ancient civilizations.
